The Centre for International Business Communication, Aarhus University, invites participants to a workshop in the series "Translating Europe".
The workshop, entitled “Translation, Technologies and Quality Assurance”, will be held at Aarhus University on Thursday 11 October 2018.
The workshop is a joint event organized and funded by Aarhus University, the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission and the Union of Communication and Language Professionals in Denmark.
The workshop aims to explore the impact of relevant technological developments, including machine translation and CAT tools, on the translator profession and on translation training. We would like to identify new skills and competences required of translators working with a fast increasing number of translation tools and, next, to discuss how translation training at university-level should integrate these skills and competences. We will also discuss the new competence framework developed by the European Master’s in Translation Network with a focus on the needs of the Danish translation industry.
The workshop will bring together translation experts from the private sector and from the EU Commission, translation trainers and translation scholars as well as translation students.
Languages will be Danish and English.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge. Participants must register by completing the registration form before 1 October 2018.
