UIC Workshop: Successful Adjustment
Workshop content and purpose
Facilitator and Family Therapist Kelly Pacheco will explain about successful life adjustment in times of change.
This workshop for internationals addresses "how to successfully adjust during times of change and transition."
Family Therapist Kelly Pacheco will be leading the workshop for those who are interested in improving their capacity to cope positively during times of transition and change.
The workshop will be both educational and interactive with a focus on developing skills and strategies to help you thrive during challenging times in your life.
The event will start at 3 pm, please be on time. There will be a short break for refreshments midway through. Expect to listen, learn, share if you are comfortable and join in some short group activities. Different topics will be covered during the workshop:
- Understanding why times of transition and change are so challenging
- Understanding why some people adjust more successfully to change than others
- Identifying the key factors of successful adjustment to transition and change
- Learning how to develop your own capacity to cope positively with transitions and changes in life
Kelly Pacheco is an Australian specialist, mental health clinician and systemic family therapist who has been living in Aarhus for almost 5 years. Kelly has a private practice called Talking Works - a specialist counselling service providing psychological services to internationals experiencing emotional or relational difficulties in the context of change, transition or significant life events.
As an international herself, Kelly has first hand experience of the joys and challenges of living an international life having lived in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, and now Denmark. Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Psychology, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Family Therapy. As well as working with internationals in her private practice, Kelly is a regular guest lecturer at Aarhus University teaching masters students how to work successfully in multi disciplinary teams.
